Google Analytics 4

Bring selected GA4 properties into Data Weaver to examine website traffic and channel performance in the correct client context.

Before you start

  • An invited Data Weaver account with permission to manage sources in the target workspace and client.
  • A Google account with access to the GA4 properties you intend to connect. Use this account when Google asks you to sign in.

Set up the connection

  1. Select the client, open Sources, and connect Google Analytics with Google through Nango's hosted authorization window.
  2. Review the consent screen, then explicitly select the accessible GA4 properties to sync and save your selection. Selecting none syncs none.
  3. Run Sync and check readiness, last sync time and sync history before relying on results.

Permissions requested

  • Read access is needed to discover authorized properties and request GA4 reports. Data Weaver does not change Analytics settings or tracking.
  • Google displays the requested permissions during authorization. Review them, choose the Google account that has access to your properties, and approve the connection before returning to Data Weaver.

Data read and actions performed

  • The scheduled report reads daily sessions, users, pageviews, conversions and revenue by default channel group over a recent 90-day window ending yesterday.
  • Supported scoped questions can also request date breakdowns and landing-page evidence. Synced records are stored under the authorized workspace/client context.

Refresh and sync

  • The default scheduled cadence is hourly; manual Sync is available. Provider quotas, authorization and operator background-processing settings can delay updates.
  • A connected badge alone does not establish usable data. Read the selected-property status and coverage.

Limitations

  • GA4 is not Universal Analytics. API aggregation, reporting availability and attribution can differ from other platforms.
  • The recent-window import is not a promise of complete lifetime history. Revenue uses the provider's reporting definitions, not independent payment verification.

Troubleshooting

  • If properties are missing, confirm the signed-in Google account's access and revisit explicit selection.
  • For denied or expired authorization, verify permissions and reconnect. For quota or temporary provider errors, inspect the retry status instead of repeatedly reconnecting.

Disconnect and delete

  • Remove the connection in Sources to stop Data Weaver using it; remote Nango connection cleanup is attempted and retried if needed.
  • Local removal is not a guarantee of provider-wide grant revocation or erasure of prior answers. Remove Data Weaver access separately in your Google Account third-party connections settings; use Data deletion for retained application data.
