Before you start
- A TikTok for Business identity with advertiser access and Data Weaver source-management access.
- Identify the advertisers you want to select. Use the paid Ads authorization flow, which is separate from TikTok Login Kit/Display API access.
Set up the connection
- Connect TikTok Ads in the correct client's Sources and review business authorization.
- Choose verified authorized advertiser accounts explicitly and save. Selecting none syncs none. Manual advertiser-ID entry is only a recovery path and does not bypass provider authorization.
- Sync and check account currency, historical coverage and readiness.
Permissions requested
- Access is used to discover authorized advertisers, verify currency and read campaign/report observations. No campaign or budget writes are performed.
- Review TikTok for Business authorization and approve access for your advertiser accounts. This business authorization is separate from the Login Kit/Display API grant used for TikTok Organic.
Data read and actions performed
- The connector reads daily spend, impressions, clicks and conversions, with advertiser/campaign ownership and currency evidence.
- Historical reporting is processed in retained bounded slices, with recent dates refreshed. Coverage is checked rather than treating a completed request as proof of complete history.
Refresh and sync
- Default cadence is hourly with manual Sync. Historical backfill can take multiple runs; quota/retry deadlines can delay progress.
Limitations
- An account-specific purchase-event-value metric is not verified by this connector: TikTok revenue and ROAS are unavailable, not zero.
- Legacy monetary rows without verified currency cannot be used for money totals. Backfill is limited by provider availability and does not guarantee lifetime coverage.
Troubleshooting
- For missing advertisers, check business access and the provider's discovery response; an entered ID must still be authorized.
- Inspect retained backfill progress, currency and sync history. Reconnect for lost authorization; allow quota retries instead of repeatedly restarting history.
Disconnect and delete
- Remove the connection locally to stop Data Weaver use and initiate remote cleanup.
- Remove the app's authorization separately in TikTok for Business app/access settings. Local disconnect does not prove provider-wide revocation or delete every prior answer; use Data deletion for retained data.
