Before you start
- An Instagram professional account linked to a Facebook Page and a Facebook identity with the necessary Page/account access.
- Data Weaver source-management access. Use the Facebook identity that manages the linked Page when connecting your professional Instagram account.
Set up the connection
- Connect Instagram in Sources for the correct client through Meta's hosted authorization.
- Choose the verified Instagram accounts explicitly and save. Selecting none syncs none.
- Sync and inspect per-account coverage, status and last observation before analyzing growth or posts.
Permissions requested
- Read access is used to discover linked professional accounts, read account insights and retrieve authorized media/captions and post insights. Data Weaver does not publish posts or manage messages.
- During Meta authorization, review access to the linked Facebook Pages and Instagram accounts. This allows Data Weaver to discover your professional accounts and retrieve their organic insights after you select them.
Data read and actions performed
- The sync collects available reach observations, current follower snapshots, and authorized posts/media with their available insight measures.
- Supported questions can use scoped post evidence and follower observations. Source media can be displayed from authorized records rather than invented URLs.
Refresh and sync
- Default cadence is hourly, with incremental per-account cursors and manual Sync. Meta quota backoff can postpone work; an incomplete account sync does not establish complete coverage.
Limitations
- Historical follower growth needs complete daily snapshots across selected accounts; a current follower total cannot reconstruct missing dates.
- Provider insight history and media availability are bounded. Organic engagement is not Ads conversion attribution, and missing metrics are not zero.
Troubleshooting
- For missing accounts, verify professional status, Facebook Page linkage and the authorizing identity's Page access.
- Check coverage and retry status for partial results. Reconnect for expired or denied authorization; do not repeatedly reauthorize to solve quota limits.
Disconnect and delete
- Remove the connection in Data Weaver to stop its use and request remote cleanup.
- Separately remove Meta app access through Business Integrations/app settings for provider-wide revocation, which may affect other Meta sources. Ask for Data deletion for retained reports/answers.
